Getting Started
Your park must be at least level 11 to participate in this event, which began on August 23rd, 2019. If you’re above level 11 and the event hasn’t started for you, you may be playing on an older version of DragonVale. Please update to the most recent version through your device's app store. The correct version for the event is 4.16.0.

Purchasing Flowers
Flowers can also be purchased through the Market. You can also purchase Runestones to activate additional Runic Breeding Caves which will allow you to earn even more Flowers!
Runic Breeding Caves
Complete breeds in the new Runic Breeding Caves! The resulting egg from each breed in a Runic Breeding Cave will be exchanged for Flowers.
Longer breed times will award more Flowers than shorter times, and breeding new dragon types will provide an extra bonus of Flowers. All breeds in Runic Breeding Caves are reduced in time and can be sped up with Gems. Please note that the cost to speed up a breed will increase with each use.
All the dragons you breed in Runic Breeding Caves will be logged in the Egg History, and you can choose ONE of these dragons to keep for each cave that you have activated. You can access your Egg History at any time by tapping on a Runic Breeding Cave, then tapping the "Egg History" icon at the bottom of the screen.
Additional Runic Breeding Caves
Every player will have one Runic Breeding Cave to start with and will be given a bonus Runestone to activate a second cave during the tutorial. This bonus cave will be available to use for a period of one week.
On double Flower days, players will be given an additional cave to breed in. On Triple Flower days, each player will have two additional Runic Breeding Caves available to use. Each cave will generate Flowers, and you can claim 1 free egg from each Runic Breeding Cave that was activated in your park.
You can also purchase Runestones in the Market that will allow you to activate more Runic Breeding Caves. These caves will last for a period of one week from the time of activation. It is important to note that reactivating the same cave will not allow you to select more than one egg to keep from that cave.
Choosing a Free Dragon from your Runic Breeding Caves
You can select the eggs you want to keep at any point during the event, but please choose carefully as this choice is final and you will not be able to change your selection. You can choose 1 egg to keep from each Runic Breeding Cave that was activated in your park.
To claim a free dragon, please follow the steps below:
- Tap the Runic Breeding Cave you wish to collect an egg from
- Tap the Egg History icon
- View all the eggs you've bred, using filters to sort them as necessary
- Tap the claim button on the left side of the Egg History menu
- In the list that pops up, choose the dragon you wish to claim, then tap the "confirm" button
- Tap yes to confirm your dragon selection, or choose no to cancel and choose a different dragon
- Once you have claimed an egg from a Runic Breeding Cave you will not be able to claim another egg from that cave.
Elemental Playlist
Each day a set of elements is chosen that influences the following aspects of the event:
- Habitat Collection: Habitats that match at least one of the daily elements will have a greater chance of awarding Flowers.
- Breed Times: Any dragon whose habitat types match at least one of the daily elements will have reduced breeding and incubating times. This applies to normal breeding areas, as well as Runic Breeding Caves. Primary dragons are not affected.
- Dragon Dance Floor: Each day the epic element required in dragon dance challenges will change to match the chosen daily element. Choose dragons that match this element to earn the maximum amount of Flowers.
- Banner-Bearing Visitors: The color of the banner-bearing visitors in your park will change to match the selected daily elements.
The first time you log in after the daily reset you will receive a message displaying the elemental playlist for that day. If you miss this notification you can view the elemental playlist at any time by tapping the info button in the event Help menu or News menu.
Collecting Prizes
The Beachside Bungalow contains all the prizes that can be earned in the event. Prizes are divided into different collections, and collecting more unique prizes will unlock additional prize collections.
Exchanging Flowers for Prizes
- Visit the Beachside Bungalow and tap the Prizes icon
- View available prizes by tapping each of the different collections
- A counter on each prize will show you how many of that item you currently own. Please note that dragons that have not yet been hatched will not be counted.

If you already own an item from one of the prize collections it will count towards unlocking higher tiers. Please note that multiples of the same item do not count towards unlocking higher tiers.
Purchasing New Dragons
Before you can purchase one of the new event dragons you must first collect certain items. The items you need to collect can be found by tapping a locked dragon in the Beachside Bungalow. Once you have collected the required items the dragon will unlock for you to purchase.
Spellforms
In addition to having separate day and night forms, new dragons in this event can also be enhanced with Spellforms for an even wilder appearance! Dragons that can be enhanced with Spellforms are indicated by a mask icon in the lower right corner of their info card, and can be found in the "Enhanced" section of the Dragonarium.

Activities & Games
Aquatic Arcade
The Aquatic Arcade contains 2 different mini-games - Wheel of Chance and Dragon Drop. You'll get 5 free plays in the Aquatic Arcade every 12 hours. Please note that these plays are shared between all games.
- Wheel of Chance - Give the wheel a spin and be rewarded with the number of Flowers the needle lands on.
- Dragon Drop - A game of chance, Pachinko style! Tap to drop the coin and win Flowers!
Buying More Plays
After you use your last available play at the Aquatic Arcade you will have the option to purchase an additional play for 5 Gems. Purchasing an additional play is entirely optional and you will still receive your 5 free plays every 12 hours as usual.
Golden Chests
Sometimes mini-games contain a Golden Chest that will provide special rewards. You'll always have a small chance to find a Golden Chest when playing games, but buying an additional play gives you a 100% chance of finding a Golden Chest on your next turn. Please note that this only guarantees that the chest will appear, and not that you will be able to win the chest.
Dragon Dance Floor
Similar to cooperative breeding, you can team up with friends’ dragons to compete in dance challenges and win Flowers!
- Challenges will last 6 hours each
- You may complete up to 4 challenges per day
- Choose the best dragons for the challenge by matching the dragons' elements to the elements of the current challenge
- Each day the epic element required in dragon dance challenges will change to match that day's elemental playlist.
Banner-Bearing Visitors
Each day there will be banner-bearing wizards visiting your park. The color of these visitors will change to match the the daily elemental playlist. On double and triple days there will be more visitors to find. You will know there are more banner-bearers to find when you see a pink border around your visitors icon.
DragonVale Trivia
Every other day there will be a new trivia question available in the Poll Plaza. You will receive Flowers for answering trivia questions, and answering correctly will award the maximum amount of Flowers. If the community answers correctly, hidden stars will appear in your park the following day. Finding these hidden stars will award additional Flowers.
Tidal Timekeeper
The Tidal Timekeeper rewards you for each day you play during the event. Earn free Flowers and other great prizes!
- Check in each day for magical rewards and special surprises!
- If you miss a day, don’t worry, you can spend a few gems to catch up. You cannot collect a day’s reward in advance.
- You only have to log in to DragonVale each day to be eligible for the reward. If you log in, but forget to visit the Tidal Timekeeper, your reward will still be available to collect the next time you visit.
