Getting Started
Your park must be at least level 11 to participate in this event, which began on April 4th, 2019. If you’re above level 11 and the event hasn’t started for you, you may be playing on an older version of DragonVale. Please update to the most recent version through your device's app store. The correct version for the event is 4.14.0.
Collecting Magic Eggs
During this event Magic Eggs can be earned in a variety of ways. Eggs can then be exchanged for fabulous prizes at the Burcadian Bazaar!
Ways to Earn Magic Eggs:
- Collecting from habitats (Max of 500 Magic Eggs per day)
- Breeding in the Burcadian Breeding Cave
- Playing games in the Eggsceptional Arcade
- Competing in Colosseum events
- Collecting daily rewards at the Sundial of Surprises
- Finding and tapping on hidden eggs
- Watching Visions at Tolzar's Optical Oracle
Burcadian Breeding Cave
Breed your dragons in the Burcadian Breeding Cave to earn Magic Eggs! The resulting egg from each breed in the Burcadian Breeding Cave will be exchanged for Magic Eggs.
Longer breed times will award more Magic Eggs than shorter times, and breeding new dragon types will result in an extra bonus of Magic Eggs. All breed in the Burcadian Breeding Cave are reduced in time and cannot be sped up with Gems.
All the dragons you breed in the Burcadian Breeding Cave will be logged in your Egg History, and you can choose ONE of these dragons to keep. You can access your Egg History at any time by tapping on the Burcadian Breeding Cave, then tapping the "Egg History" icon at the bottom of the screen.
Choosing Your Free Dragon
You can select the egg you want to keep at any point in the event, but please choose carefully as this choice is final and you will not be able to choose a different dragon.
To claim your free dragon, please follow the steps below:
- Tap the Egg History icon
- View all the eggs you've bred, using filters to sort them as necessary
- Tap the claim button on the left side of the Egg History menu
- In the list that pops up, choose the dragon you wish to claim, then tap the "confirm" button
- Tap yes to confirm your dragon selection, or choose no to cancel and choose a different dragon
The Burcadian Bazaar
The Burcadian Bazaar can be found on the event island and contains all the prizes that can be earned in the event. Prizes are divided into different collections, and collecting more unique prizes will unlock the higher prize tiers.
Exchanging Magic Eggs for Prizes
- Visit the Burcadian Bazaar and tap the Prizes icon
- View available prizes by tapping each of the different collections
- A counter on each prize will show you how many of that item you currently own. Please note that dragons that have not yet been hatched will not be counted.
Unlocking Prize Collections
Collecting more unique prizes will unlock the higher tiers. The number of unique prizes required to unlock each tier is visible within the Burcadian Bazaar. If you already own an item from one of the prize collections it will count towards unlocking higher tiers. Please note that multiples of the same item do not count towards unlocking higher tiers.
Activities & Games
Eggsceptional Arcade
The Eggsceptional Arcade contains three different mini games - Wheel of Chance, Dragon Drop, and Name that Egg. You'll get 5 free plays in the Eggsceptional Arcade every 24 hours. Please note that these plays are shared between all games.
Wheel of Chance - Give the wheel a spin and be rewarded with the number of Magic Eggs the needle lands on.
Dragon Drop - A game of chance, Pachinko style! Tap to drop the coin and win Magic Eggs!
Name That Egg - Show off your DragonVale knowledge when you take this multiple choice challenge. Win Magic Eggs when you guess correctly!
Buying More Plays
After you use your last play in the Eggsceptional Arcade you will have the option to purchase an additional play for 5 Gems. Purchasing additional plays is entirely optional and you will still receive your 5 free plays per day as usual.
Golden Chests
Sometimes mini-games contain a Golden Chest that will award special prizes. You'll always have a small chance to find a Golden Chest when playing games, but buying an additional play gives you a 100% chance of finding a Golden Chest on your next turn.
Please note that this only guarantees that the chest will appear, and not that you will win the chest.
Hidden Eggs
Each day there will be 20 colorful eggs hidden around your park. You will know there are more eggs to find when you see a green border around your Visitors icon. Also be on the lookout for the wizard Kaleni on double days as he will award Magic Eggs and maybe even an Egg of Mystery if you're lucky!
Sundial of Surprises
The Sundial of Surprises rewards you for each day you play during the event. Earn free Magic Eggs and other great prizes!
- Check in each day for magical rewards and special surprises!
- If you miss a day, don’t worry, you can spend a few gems to catch up. You cannot collect a day’s reward in advance.
- You only have to login to DragonVale each day to be eligible for the reward. If you login, but forget to visit the Sundial of Surprises, your reward will still be available to collect the next time you visit.

Why hasn’t the event begun in my park yet?

What is the daily limit of Magic Eggs?
There is no overall daily limit on Magic Eggs in this event, but the maximum number of eggs you can earn by collecting from habitats is 500 per day.
Why am I not receiving Magic Eggs when I collect from my habitats?
Each day you can earn a maximum of 500 Magic Eggs by collecting from habitats. All other sources of Magic Eggs are unlimited.
What happens to the dragons I breed in the Burcadian Breeding Cave?
The resulting egg from each breed in the Burcadian Breeding Cave will be exchanged for Magic Eggs. All the dragons you breed will be logged in your Egg History, and you can choose ONE of these dragons to keep. You can select the egg you want to keep at any point in the event, but please choose carefully as this choice is final.
How many games can I play each day?
You'll get 5 free plays in the Eggsceptional Arcade every 24 hours. Please note that these plays are shared between all games.
Why didn't I win the Golden Chest when I bought an additional play in the Eggsceptional Arcade?
Buying an additional play guarantees that a Golden Chest will appear as one of the possible prizes in that round, but does not guarantee that you will win it. Please note that when playing Name That Egg you must answer correctly before the timer expires in order to win the Golden Chest.
When does the Chrysalis Kaleidoscope end?
The Chrysalis Kaleidoscope runs through May 14th, 2019, and concludes on May 15th at 11am Mountain Time. It will not be possible to earn additional Magic Eggs after this time, but the Burcadian Bazaar will remain open for two additional days so you can spend any leftover eggs you may have.
When does the Burcadian Bazaar close?
The Burcadian Bazaar will close at 11am Mountain Time on May 17th and event prizes will no longer be available after this time.
What happens to my leftover Magic Eggs at the end of the Chrysalis Kaleidoscope?
After the Burcadian Bazaar closes on May 17th, we'll turn any leftover Magic Eggs into DragonCash at the rate of 1,000 DragonCash per 1 egg.
When is my last chance to purchase Magic Eggs if I need a few more?
To prevent any potential issues with purchases being made as the event is ending, Magic Egg purchasing will be turned off at 8am Mountain Time on May 17th, 3 hours prior to the closing of the Burcadian Bazaar.
