Getting Started
Join DragonVale for the Party in Paradise! Your park must be at least level 11 to participate in this event, which began on September, 13th 2018. If you’re above level 11 and the event hasn’t started for you, you may be playing on an older version of DragonVale. Please update to the most recent version through your device's app store. The correct version for the event is 4.9.0 or 4.9.1
Collecting Flowers
During this event Flowers can be earned in a variety of ways. Flowers can then be exchanged for fabulous prizes at the Beachside Bungalow!
Ways to Earn Flowers:
- Collecting from habitats
- Breeding dragons
- Incubating dragons
- Hatching dragons
- Selling newly-hatched dragons
- Playing games in the Aquatic Arcade
- Competing in challenges at the Coastline Colosseum
- Collecting daily rewards at the Tidal Timekeeper
- Finding and tapping on special visiting wizards
Purchasing Flowers
Flowers can also be purchased through the Market. Purchased Flowers do not count against your daily collection limit.
The Beachside Bungalow
The Beachside Bungalow can be found floating above your starting island and contains all the prizes that can be earned in the event. Prizes are divided into tiers, and new prizes will unlock as the event progresses.
Exchanging Flowers for Prizes
- Visit the Beachside Bunglaow and tap the Prizes icon
- View available prizes by tapping each of the different collections
- A counter on each prize will show you how many of that item you currently own. Please note that dragons that have not yet been hatched will not be counted.
- New prizes will unlock as the event progresses
New Prize Collections
As the event progresses, new prizes will become available. When a new prize collection opens, the previous collection will expire and it will no longer be possible to purchase prizes from that collection.
Activities & Games
Aquatic Arcade
The Aquatic Arcade contains two different mini games - Wheel of Chance and Dragon Drop. You'll get 5 free plays in The Games Tent every 4 hours, up to a maximum of 30 plays per day. Please note that these plays are shared between both games.
Wheel of Chance - Give the wheel a spin and be rewarded with the number of Flowers or Gems the needle lands on.
Dragon Drop - A game of chance, Pachinko style! Tap to drop the coin and win Flowers or Gems!
Buying More Plays
After you use your last available play at the Aquatic Arcade you will have the option to purchase an additional 5 plays for 20 Gems. Purchasing additional plays is entirely optional and you will still receive your 5 free plays every 4 hours as usual.
Please note: If you have already reached your Flower limit for the day, buying more plays will not allow you to win more Flowers for your personal total.
Golden Chests
Sometimes Dragon Drop and the Wheel of Chance contain a special Golden Chest. This Golden Chest can contain many fabulous prizes, including dragon eggs!
You'll always have a small chance to find a Golden Chest when playing games, but buying additional plays gives you a 100% chance of finding a Golden Chest. Please note that this only guarantees that the chest will appear, and not that the coin or wheel will land on it.
Coastline Colosseum
Similar to cooperative breeding, you can team up with friends’ dragons to compete in challenges and win Flowers!
- Challenges will last four hours each
- You may complete up to five challenges per day
- Choose the best dragons for the challenge by matching your dragon's elements to the elements of the current challenge
Special Visiting Wizards
Each day there will be special flag-bearing wizards visiting your park. Keep an eye out for them for a chance to earn extra Flowers, or maybe even a dragon egg! The flag-bearing visitors will come back once every hour, up to a maximum of 5 visits per day. You will know they are there when you see the pink border around the visitor icon.
Tidal Timekeeper
The Tidal Timekeeper rewards you for each day you play during the event. Earn free Flowers, Gems, and even dragons!
- Check in each day for magical rewards and special surprises!
- If you miss a day, don’t worry, you can spend a few gems to catch up. You cannot collect a day’s reward in advance.
- You only have to login to DragonVale each day to be eligible for the reward. If you login, but forget to visit the Tidal Timekeeper, your reward will still be available to collect the next time you visit.

Why hasn’t the event begun in my park yet?
Your park must be at least level 11 to participate in this event, which began on September 13th, 2018.

What is the daily limit of Flowers?
Flowers are normally limited to 1000 per day, but be on the lookout for special occasions where there are more Flowers available! Keep in mind that purchases in the Market are not affected by the daily limit.
When can I collect more Flowers?
Your daily cap for Flowers will reset each day at 11am Mountain Time. Check back each day for more Flowers and more chances to earn prizes!
How many games can I play each day?
You'll get 5 free plays in the Aquatic Arcade every 4 hours, up to a maximum of 30 plays per day. Please note that these plays are shared between both games.
Why am I being charged Gems to play games?
If you've already used your 5 available plays you will have the option to purchase 5 additional plays for 20 Gems. This is entirely optional and you will still receive your 5 free plays every 4 hours. Please note that buying additional plays will increase the chances of a Golden Chest appearing in Wheel of Chance or Dragon Drop.
Will buying more plays at the Aquatic Arcade allow me to collect Flowers beyond the normal daily limit?
If you have already reached your Flower limit for the day, buying more plays will not allow you to win more Flowers for your personal total.
When does the Party in Paradise end?
Party in Paradise runs through October 1st, 2018, and concludes on October 2nd at 11am MDT. It will not be possible to earn additional Flowers after this time, but the Beachside Bungalow will remain open for one additional day so you can turn in any leftover Flowers you may have.
When does the Beachside Bungalow close?
The Beachside Bungalow will close at 11am MDT on October 3rd and event prizes will no longer be available after this time.
What happens to my leftover Flowers at the end of the Party in Paradise?
After the Beachside Bungalow closes on October 3rd, we'll turn any leftover Flowers into DragonCash at the rate of 1,000 DragonCash per 1 Flower.
When is my last chance to purchase Flowers if I need a few more?
To prevent any potential issues with purchases being made as the event is ending, Flower purchasing will be turned off at 8am MDT on October 3rd, 3 hours prior to the closing of the Beachside Bungalow.
