Getting Started
Join DragonVale for the Eggstraordinary Egg Hunt! Your park must be at least level 11 to participate in this event, which began on March 8th, 2018. If you’re above level 11 and the event hasn’t started for you, you may be playing on an older version of DragonVale. Please update to the most recent version through your device's app store. The correct version for the event is 4.5.0.
Collecting Magic Eggs
During this event Magic Eggs can be earned in a variety of ways. Eggs can then be exchanged for fabulous prizes at the Burcadian Bazaar!
Ways to Earn Magic Eggs:
- Collecting DragonCash or harvesting Treats
- Hatching dragons
- Clearing bushes, trees, and rocks from new islands
- Clearing Miasmic Ether in the Rift
- Playing games in the Eggceptional Arcade
- Harvesting Treats from the Burcadian Garden
- Collecting daily rewards at the Sundial of Surprises
- Receiving gifts from friends
- Visiting friends’ parks and tapping party hats
- Competing in Colosseum events
- Questing at the Perch of Kairos and Gaia’s Nest
- Finding and tapping Hidden Eggs in your park
Collecting Magic Eggs After You've Reached the Daily Cap
It is important to note that you can continue to contribute Magic Eggs towards the community rewards after you've reached your daily cap. These additional Eggs are not added to your personal total, but will be added to your community contribution. Once the community collects enough Magic Eggs you'll all be given a prize!
Purchasing Magic Eggs
Magic Eggs can also be purchased through the Market. Purchased Eggs do not count against your daily collection limit.
The Burcadian Bazaar
The Burcadian Bazaar can be found on the event island and contains all the prizes that can be earned in the event. Prizes are divided into several tiers, and collecting more unique prizes will unlock higher tiers.
Exchanging Magic Eggs for Prizes
- Visit the Burcadian Bazaar and tap the Prizes icon
- View available prizes by tapping each of the different collections
- A counter on each prize will show you how many of that item you currently own. Please note that dragons that have not yet been hatched will not be counted.
- The more unique prizes you earn, the more collections you will unlock
Unlocking Higher Prize Tiers
Collecting more unique prizes will unlock higher tiers. The number of unique prizes required to unlock each tier is visible within the Burcadian Bazaar. If you already own an item from one of the prize collections it will count towards unlocking higher tiers. Multiples of the same item do not count towards unlocking higher tiers.
The Burcadian Breeding Cave
For the first time ever, breed new event dragons using the Burcadian Breeding Cave! New Dragons such as the Cocoahollow, Cumberpatch, and Bilby Dragon can only be bred in the Burcadian Breeding Cave. Breeding combinations for the new event dragons can be found in the Breeding Hints menu, accessed by tapping the Burcadian Breeding Cave, then tapping the Breeding Hints icon at the bottom of the screen.
Each time you breed in the Burcadian Breeding Cave it will cost Magic Eggs, but breeds in the Burcadian Breeding Cave will happen instantaneously. Please note that eggs will still require a spot to incubate in your Nursery.
Activities & Games
Eggceptional Arcade
The Eggceptional Arcade contains two different mini games - Wheel of Chance and Dragon Drop. You'll get 10 plays in The Eggceptional Arcade each day. Please note that these 10 plays are shared between both games.
Wheel of Chance - Give the wheel a spin and be rewarded with the number of Magic Eggs or Gems the needle lands on.
Dragon Drop - A game of chance, Pachinko style! Tap to drop the coin and win Eggs or Gems!
Buying More Plays
After you use your last play at the Eggceptional Arcade you will have the option to purchase an additional play for 5 Gems. Purchasing additional plays is entirely optional and you will still receive your 10 free plays per day as usual.
Please note: If you have already reached your Egg limit for the day, buying more plays will not allow you to win more Magic Eggs for your personal total. Any Magic Eggs won after reaching the daily limit will be applied to your community contribution only.
New! Golden Chests
Sometimes Dragon Drop and the Wheel of Chance contain a special Golden Chest. This Golden Chest can contain many fabulous prizes, including dragon eggs!
You'll always have a small chance to find a Golden Chest when playing games, but buying another play gives you an even higher chance to find a Golden Chest. Each time you buy another play your chance increases - all the way up to a guaranteed chance to find a chest in the game you're playing.
Burcadian Garden
The wizards and witches of DragonVale have made a new discovery - the Burcadian Garden! We don't fully understand the magic at work here, but when you plant a Burcadian Carrot, it grows into both Dragon Treats and Magic Eggs! Visit the Burcadian Garden every 24 hours for free Dragon Treats and Magic Eggs!
Hidden Eggs
Each day there will be colorful Magic Eggs hidden your park. You will know there are Eggs to find when you see the green border around your visitors icon. If you're lucky, the Golden Egg may even contain a special surprise...
Sundial of Surprises
The Sundial of Surprises rewards you for each day you play during the Eggstraordinary Egg Hunt. Earn free Magic Eggs, Gems, and even dragons!
- Check in each day for magical rewards and special surprises!
- If you miss a day, don’t worry, you can spend a few gems to catch up. You cannot collect a day’s reward in advance.
- You only have to login to DragonVale each day to be eligible for the reward. If you login, but forget to visit the Sundial of Surprises, your reward will still be available to collect the next time you visit.
Please note: Dragons from the Sundial of Surprises must be collected before the end of the event. If you earn the day 20 or 25 dragon reward, but do not collect it prior to the event ending on April 3rd, a dragon will be randomly chosen for you and placed in your gifts menu.
Community Rewards
During the Eggstraordinary Egg Hunt, all Magic Eggs you collect count towards earning prizes for everyone in the DragonVale community. You can see how many Eggs you've earned for the community at any time by tapping the small basket of Eggs underneath the Egg counter icon on the left side of your screen.
The progress bar there represents the actual contributions from all DragonVale players. Once the community has earned enough Magic Eggs, a reward will be given to everyone who contributed. After a reward is given the progress bar will reset and start counting towards the next reward.
It is important to note that you can continue to contribute Magic Eggs towards the community reward after you've reached your daily cap. This additional Eggs are not added to your personal total, but will be added to your community contribution.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why hasn’t the event begun in my park yet?
Your park must be at least level 11 to participate in this event, which began on March 8th, 2018.

What is the daily limit of Magic Eggs?
Magic Eggs are normally limited to 1000 per day, but be on the lookout for special occasions where there are more Eggs available! Keep in mind that purchases in the Market are not affected by the daily limit. Please note that you can continue to earn Magic Eggs for the DragonVale community even after you've hit your personal limit for the day.
When can I collect more Magic Eggs?
Your daily cap for Magic Eggs will reset each day at 11am Mountain Time. Check back each day for more Eggs and more chances to earn prizes!
Can I breed the new event dragons outside of the Burcadian Breeding Cave?
The new event dragons (Cocoahollow, Bilby, Cumberpatch, etc.) can only be bred using the Burcadian Breeding Cave. If you or a friend already has one of these new dragons, there is a small chance of breeding another one by using that dragon as one of the parents in the regular Breeding Cave, Breeding Island, or Cooperative Breeding Cave.
Returning event dragons (Hidden Dragons, Chrysalis Dragons, etc.) can be bred outside of the Burcadian Breeding Cave using their normal breeding combos.
What happens if I have a dragon in the Burcadian Breeding Cave when the event ends?
If you have an uncollected dragon in the Burcadian Breeding Cave when the event ends it will be collected for you and placed into your gifts menu.
Why am I being charged Gems to play games?
If you've already used your 10 free plays for the day you will have the option to purchase additional plays for 5 Gems each. This is entirely optional and you will still receive your 10 free plays per day as usual. Please note that buying additional plays will increase the chances of a Golden Chest appearing in Wheel of Chance or Dragon Drop.
Will buying more plays at the Eggceptional Arcade allow me to collect Magic Eggs beyond the normal daily limit?
If you have already reached your Magic Egg limit for the day, buying more plays will not allow you to win more Eggs for your personal total. Any Magic Eggs won after reaching the daily limit will be applied to your community contribution only.
When does the Eggstraordinary Egg Hunt end?
The Eggstraordinary Egg Hunt runs through April 2nd, 2018, and concludes on April 3rd at 11am MDT. It will not be possible to earn additional Magic Eggs after this time, but the Burcadian Bazaar will remain open for one additional day so you can turn in any leftover Eggs you may have.
When does the Burcadian Bazaar close?
The Burcadian Bazaar will close at 11am MDT on April 4th and event prizes will no longer be available after this time. You will not be able to earn additional Magic Eggs during this extra day, but you will have the opportunity to turn in any leftover Eggs for prizes, as well as collect up to 1000 Magic Eggs from your Gifts menu.
I have Magic Eggs remaining in my Gifts menu. Will these be added to my total when the event ends?
Any Magic Eggs stored in your Gifts menu must be collected in order to be added to your total. You can collect up to 1,000 Magic Eggs from your Gifts on the day between the event ending and the Burcadian Bazaar closing.
What happens to my leftover Magic Eggs at the end of the Eggstraordinary Egg Hunt?
After the Burcadian Bazaar closes on April 4th, we'll turn any leftover Magic Eggs into DragonCash at the rate of 1,000 DragonCash per 1 Egg.
When is my last chance to purchase Magic Eggs if I need a few more?
To prevent any potential issues with purchases being made as the event is ending, Magic Egg purchasing will be turned off at 8am MDT on April 4th, 3 hours prior to the closing of the Burcadian Bazaar.
