Getting Started
Why hasn’t the event begun in my park yet?
Your park must be at least level 11 to begin this event, which began on March 23rd, 2017.
If you’re above level 11 and still aren't seeing the event, you might be playing on an older version of DragonVale. Please update to the most recent version through the iOS App Store, Google Play Store, or Amazon Appstore. The correct version for the event is 3.14.0.
I missed the help menus/event tutorials, what should I do?
If you select the Burcadian Bazaar, then tap Help, you can view all the information on the event.
When does the event end?
The Mythic Egg Hunt runs through April 17th, 2017, and concludes on April 18th at 11am MST.
Collecting Magic Eggs
This event is all about collecting Magic Eggs around your park, playing games, competing in challenges, and turning in the Eggs for fabulous prizes at the Burcadian Bazaar. How can I earn Magic Eggs, you ask?
Ways to Earn Magic Eggs
- Collecting DragonCash or Harvesting Treats
- Hatching Dragons
- Clearing bushes and trees from new islands
- Playing games at the Eggsceptional Arcade
- Competing in challenges in the Chalet of Challenges
- Collecting daily rewards from the Sundial of Surprises
- Competing in Colosseum events
- Questing at the Perch of Kairos and Gaia's Nest
- Receiving gifts from friends
- Visiting friends' parks and tapping Party Hats
- Finding the hidden Egg in your park
Purchasing Magic Eggs
Magic Eggs can also be purchased through the Market. Please note that Magic Eggs purchased in the Market do not count against your daily collection limit.
Why am I no longer earning Magic Eggs?
You’ve hit your daily cap for Magic Eggs. Nice work! More Eggs will be available to collect the following day. You can keep track of how close you are to the daily limit by looking at the progress bar/counter below your Egg total.
What is the daily cap of Eggs?
Magic Eggs are normally limited to 1000 per day, but be on the lookout for special occasions where there are more Magic Eggs available! Keep in mind that purchases in the Market do not count against the daily limit.
Why is there a daily collection limit on Magic Eggs during The Mythic Egg Hunt?
A spell is cast to create Magic Eggs every day at the same time, but the magic only allows for a finite amount!
What time do the Magic Eggs reset each day?
Your daily cap for Magic Eggs will reset each day at 11am MST. Check back each day for more Eggs and more chances to earn prizes!
Will there be opportunities to earn bonus Eggs?
At random times throughout The Mythic Egg Hunt, players can earn more Eggs than usual. Stay tuned to our Facebook community to learn more!
The Burcadian Bazaar
The Burcadian Bazaar can be found on the event island and contains all the prizes that can be earned in the event. Prizes are divided into 4 collections: Speckled, Striped, Spotted, and Sparkled. Collecting more unique prizes will unlock higher tiers.
Exchanging Magic Eggs for Prizes
- Visit the Burcadian Bazaar and tap the Prizes icon
- View available prizes by tapping each of the different collections
- Select a prize from one of the many items available
- The more unique prizes you earn, the more collections you will unlock
Please Note: If you already own an item from one of the prize collections it will count towards unlocking higher tiers. Multiples of the same item will not be counted in your total.
New! Egg of Mystery
The wizards and witches have worked their magic to come up with an all-new prize: the Egg of Mystery! After the Egg of Mystery is purchased, it will transform into a random dragon egg. This could be a dragon you don't currently own or one you already possess. Feeling lucky? Take a chance on the Egg of Mystery and see what hatches!
Are there any dragons I can't earn from the Egg of Mystery?
Great question! New dragons introduced as prizes for this event cannot be obtained from the Egg of Mystery. Kairos, Gaia, Tiamat, and Bahamut are also excluded. All other dragons are fair game, and this includes expired dragons as well.
Can I buy more than one Egg of Mystery?
You sure can! The Egg of Mystery can be purchased as many times as you like and will result in a randomly-selected dragon each time.
Activities & Games
Eggsceptional Arcade
The Eggsceptional Arcade contains two different mini games - Wheel of Chance and Name that Egg.
Wheel of Chance - Give the wheel a spin and be rewarded with the number of Eggs (or Gems!) the needle lands on.
Name That Egg - Show off your DragonVale knowledge when you take this multiple choice challenge. Win Magic Eggs when you guess correctly!
You'll get 10 plays in the Eggsceptional Arcade each day. Please note that these 10 plays are shared between both games. You can visit the Arcade to check the time until games can be played again.
The Chalet of Challenges
Similar to cooperative breeding, you can team up with friends’ dragons to compete in challenges and win Magic Eggs!
- Challenges will last two hours each
- You may complete up to five challenges per day
- Choose the best dragons for the challenge by matching your dragon's elements to the elements of the current challenge
- If you win Gold in the challenge, you can send your friend a thank you and they will receive 15 extra Eggs
- Magic Eggs collected from the Chalet of Challenges after your daily limit has been reached will be placed into your Gifts menu after you reload DragonVale
- Once you hit your daily collection limit, any winnings from games played thereafter, or from unfinished challenges, will be added to your Gifts menu. You may collect these at a later date, but keep in mind accepting these gifts counts toward your daily collection limit.
New! Burcadian Garden
The wizards and witches of DragonVale have made a new discovery - the Burcadian Garden! We don't fully understand the magic at work here, but when you plant a Burcadian Carrot, it grows into both Dragon Treats and Magic Eggs! Visit the Burcadian Garden every 24 hours for free Dragon Treats and Magic Eggs!
Hidden Eggs
It wouldn't be much of an egg hunt without some eggs to find, so Kaleni will hide an egg in your park once each day. Keep an eye out for a golden egg in your park each day and be sure to check behind buildings, habitats, etc. Rumor has it there might be even more eggs to find later on in the event. You will know there are still eggs to find when there is a green border around your Visitors icon.
The Sundial of Surprises
The Sundial of Surprises rewards you for each day you play during The Mythic Egg Hunt. Earn free Eggs, Gems, and even dragons!
- Check in each day for magical rewards and special surprises!
- If you miss a day, don’t worry, you can spend a few gems to catch up. You cannot collect a day’s reward in advance.
- You only have to login to DragonVale each day to be eligible for the reward. If you login, but forget to visit The Sundial of Surprises, your reward will still be available to collect next time you visit.
- Magic Eggs received from the Sundial of Surprises are a bonus and do not count towards your daily limit.
I received a gift of Magic Eggs from the Sundial of Surprises but they weren't added to my total. What happened?
Magic Eggs earned from the Sundial of Surprises do not count against your daily limit so they will be added to your overall Egg total, but won't be reflected in the daily counter/progress bar below your Egg total.
End of the Event
When does the Mythic Egg Hunt end?
The Mythic Egg Hunt runs through April 17th 2017, and concludes on April 18th at 11am MST. After this time it will not be possible to earn additional Magic Eggs, but the Burcadian Bazaar will remain open for a brief period to allow you to turn in any leftover Eggs for prizes.
When does the Burcadian Bazaar close?
The Burcadian Bazaar will remain open through April 21st and close at 11am MST on April 22nd. You will not be able to earn additional Magic Eggs during this time, but you will have the opportunity to turn in any leftover Eggs for prizes, as well as collect any Eggs you may have remaining in your Gifts menu.
I have Magic Eggs remaining in my Gifts menu. Will these be added to my total when the event ends?
Here’s the scoop. After the event ends, any Magic Eggs stored in your Gifts menu must be collected in order to be added to your total. You can collect up to 1,000 Eggs from your Gifts menu each day until the Burcadian Bazaar closes.
I collected a large gift from a friend but only some of it was added to my total. What happened to the rest of my Eggs?
If you collect a gift that puts you over the daily Egg limit (1,000 per day), the surplus Eggs are removed from your friend's name and added to the Backflip Studios Gift total. Please note that this may not happen until the next time you load DragonVale.
What happens to my leftover Magic Eggs at the end of The Mythic Egg Hunt?
Nothing happens to your leftover Magic Eggs until the Burcadian Bazaar closes. You can still hop in the game, access the prizes, and spend your Eggs however you'd like. After the Burcadian Bazaar closes on the 22nd, we'll turn any leftover Eggs into Treats and place them into your Gifts menu.
When is my last chance to purchase Magic Eggs if I need a few more?
To prevent any potential issues with purchases being made as the event is ending, Egg purchasing will be turned off at 8am MST on April 22nd, 3 hours prior to the closing of the Burcadian Bazaar.
