Why hasn’t the event begun in my park yet?

Your park level must be at least level 11 to begin this event, which begins on January 28th, 2016.

If you’re above level 11, you might be playing on an older version of DragonVale, please update to the most recent version through the App Store, Google Play, or Amazon Marketplace. (The correct version for the event is 3.5.0)


I missed the help menus / event tutorials, what should I do?

This event is all about playing games, collecting Roses around your park, and turning the Roses in for fabulous prizes at the Rose Depot.

If you select the Rose Depot, then tap Help, you can view all the information on the event.


When does the event end?

Gardenia’s Gathering of Roses will last through February 15th.


Collecting Roses

To earn amazing event prizes you’ll have to collect Roses from various activities. How do you earn Roses, you ask?

 

  


Earning Roses

• Collecting cash from habitats
• Breeding Dragons
• Clearing bushes and trees from new islands
• Playing games!
• In this event, the witch Gardenia will visit your park once per day and give Roses when tapped upon.
• Receiving gifts from friends
• Visiting friends’ parks and tapping “party hats”

Purchasing

Roses can also be purchased through the Market
Purchases are allowed above your daily cap*

*Please note that only so many Roses are available to collect each day. Once you hit your maximum you can check the Rose Depot to see how long until more Roses are obtainable.


Why aren’t I earning any Roses? When do my Roses reset?

There is a limit on how many Roses you can collect each day. To check how much time before you can collect Roses again you can visit the Rose Depot.


What is the daily limit of Roses?

Roses are normally limited to 1000 per day, but be on the lookout for special occasions where there are more magic Roses available! (More on that below) Keep in mind, purchases in the market can go above the daily limit!


Why is there a daily collection limit on Roses during Gardenia’s Gathering of Roses?

The Roses are magic and a spell is cast every day at the same time, but the magic only allows for a finite amount.


I launched DragonVale today after the Rose reset timer should have reset my daily counter but I am getting an error that I have already collected my max Roses for the day!? Help!

We are aware of this issue and currently working on a fix. Players should be able to resolve this issue by force closing your game and relaunching DragonVale. Below are directions for both Android and Apple users.


Google Play and Android Users - How to Force Stop an App:

1. Go to Settings
2. Select Applications
3. Select Manage Applications
4. Tap on the app you wish to force stop
5. Tap Force Stop

Apple Users - How to Force Stop:

1. Double Tap your home button on your device.
2. Swipe the DragonVale screen in an upper motion

Once DragonVale is launched again you should be able to collect roses without any issue.


Will there be opportunities to earn bonus Roses?

What can I do with all the Roses I’ve collected?

 

Exchanging Roses for Prizes

• Visit the Rose Depot and tap the Prizes menu.
• Select your choice of prizes from one of the many Prize collections.
• The more prizes you earn, the more collections you will unlock.

Activities & Games

 

The Event Island is a hub of activity where you can play games and collect your prizes from the Rose Depot.

 

The Vale-N-Tine Victorium

• Looking to challenge your dragons? Visit The Vale-N-Tine Victorium and test your dragons with different elementally themed quests!
• Earn bonus Roses by selecting a dragon that matches the challenge’s elemental theme!
• Challenges take 2 hours to complete.
• Your dragons may compete up to 5 challenges per day.

Gardenia’s Gallery of Games

Gardenia’s Gallery of Games contains two different games; a game of chance and a game of skill! You get up to 10 plays per day, so come back every day for more chances to win.

Wheel-of-Chance - Give it a spin and be rewarded with the number of Roses (or Gems!) the needle lands on.

Make-a-Match - You will be presented with a gameboard of cards faced down. Test your memory to earn Roses!

• You have unlimited time to make a choice.
• Finding a match awards Roses and the matched cards remain overturned.
• If the cards are not a match, one (1) Rose is awarded, the cards are flipped back over, and a “turn” is subtracted from the daily allotment.

Why can't I play any more games today / When can I play games again?

These games can be played up to 10 times daily. You can visit the Gallery of Games to check the time until games can be played again!


What happens to my winnings from Make-a-Match or The Wheel of Win if I’ve already hit my limit of Roses for the day?

Once you hit your daily collection limit any winnings from games played thereafter, or from unfinished quests, will be added to your gifts list. You may collect these at a later date, but keep in mind accepting these gifts count toward your daily collection limit.



End of the Event

When does Gardenia’s Gathering of Roses end?

Gardenia’s Gathering of Roses will last through February 15th, but the Rose Depot will remain open for a brief time after the event has ended. This will give you the opportunity to turn in any leftover Roses for prizes.


What happens to my leftover Roses at the end of the Gardenia’s Gathering of Roses?

Good question.

The short answer is; nothing happens to your leftover Roses for ONE WEEK. You can still hop in the game, access the Rose Depot and spend your Roses however you'd like. At the END of that extra week, we'll turn your Roses into treats and place them in your gifts.

Why did we set it up this way?

In the past, because the prizes were achieved in a straight line, it was easy to know how much players had earned towards the next reward and make the obvious selection of what comes next. Now, since in the Rose Depot the more prizes you earn, the more collections you will unlock, we had to make some interesting decisions about the end of the event. Should we just pick some prizes and spend your Roses for you? Should we just tell you the event is over, tough cookies, and your Roses vanish? Those felt like bad answers, so we decided to leave the Rose Depot open an extra week, even though the event is over.


Why can I still buy Roses but not earn them?

Based on our decision to leave the Rose Depot open an extra week we had a discussion that was essentially, "What if I'm really close to getting a prize I really want? What do I do?" - which is a good question. What can we do for players who were close to achieving their goal, but were maybe on vacation when the event ended? Based on a small percentage of users who might want to reach for some items they missed, we decided to keep the Roses Market open.


Why not just make the event longer and let us earn Roses the whole time?

Then we end up at square one, which is "what do we do at the last moment when people haven't spent their Roses?"
