Getting Started
Join DragonVale for the Great Dragon Faire 2018! Your park must be at least level 11 to participate in this event, which began on June 7th, 2018. If you’re above level 11 and the event hasn’t started for you, you may be playing on an older version of DragonVale. Please update to the most recent version through your device's app store. The correct version for the event is 4.6.2.
Collecting Tickets
During this event Tickets can be earned in a variety of ways. Tickets can then be exchanged for fabulous prizes at the Prize Tent!
Ways to Earn Tickets:
- Collecting from habitats
- Breeding dragons
- Incubating dragons
- Hatching dragons
- Selling newly-hatched dragons
- Playing games in the Games Tent
- Competing in challenges at the Challenge Arena
- Finding and tapping flag-bearing visitors in your park
Collecting Tickets After You've Reached the Daily Cap
It is important to note that you can continue to contribute Tickets towards the community rewards after you've reached your daily cap. These additional Tickets are not added to your personal total, but will be added to your community contribution. Once the community collects enough Tickets you'll all be given a prize!
Purchasing Tickets
Tickets can also be purchased through the Market. Purchased Tickets do not count against your daily collection limit.
The Prize Tent
The Prize Tent can be found on the event island and contains all the prizes that can be earned in the event. Prizes are divided into several tiers, and new prize collections will unlock as the event progresses.
Exchanging Tickets for Prizes
- Visit the Prize Tent and tap the Prizes icon
- View available prizes by tapping each of the different collections
- A counter on each prize will show you how many of that item you currently own. Please note that dragons that have not yet been hatched will not be counted.
- New collections will unlock as the event progresses
New Prize Collections
As the event progresses, new prize collections will become available. When a new prize collection opens, the previous collection will expire and it will no longer be possible to purchase prizes from that collection.
Activities & Games
Games Tent
The Games Tent contains two different mini games - Wheel of Chance and Dragon Drop. You'll get 5 free plays in The Games Tent every 4 hours, up to a maximum of 30 plays per day. Please note that these plays are shared between both games.
Wheel of Chance - Give the wheel a spin and be rewarded with the number of Tickets or Gems the needle lands on.
Dragon Drop - A game of chance, Pachinko style! Tap to drop the coin and win Tickets or Gems!
Buying More Plays
After you use your last available play at the Games Tent you will have the option to purchase an additional play for 5 Gems. Purchasing additional plays is entirely optional and you will still receive your 5 free plays every 4 hours as usual.
Please note: If you have already reached your Ticket limit for the day, buying more plays will not allow you to win more Tickets for your personal total. Any Tickets won after reaching the daily limit will be applied to your community contribution only.
Golden Chests
Sometimes Dragon Drop and the Wheel of Chance contain a special Golden Chest. This Golden Chest can contain many fabulous prizes, including dragon eggs!
You'll always have a small chance to find a Golden Chest when playing games, but buying another play gives you an even higher chance to find a Golden Chest. Each time you buy another play your chance increases - all the way up to a guaranteed chance to find a chest in the game you're playing.
Challenge Arena
Similar to cooperative breeding, you can team up with friends’ dragons to compete in challenges and win Tickets!
- Challenges will last two hours each
- You may complete up to five challenges per day
- Choose the best dragons for the challenge by matching your dragon's elements to the elements of the current challenge
- Tickets collected from the Challenge Arena after your daily limit has been reached will not be added to your personal total, but will be counted towards the community rewards.
Flag-Bearing Visitors
Each day there will be flag-bearing visitors in your park and finding them will award Tickets. You will know there are visitors to find when you see the orange border around your visitors icon.
Community Rewards
During the Great Dragon Faire, all Tickets you collect count towards earning prizes for everyone in the DragonVale community. You can see how many Tickets you've earned for the community at any time by tapping the Prize Tent, then tapping the "Progress" icon at the bottom of the screen.
The progress bar there represents the actual contributions from all DragonVale players. Once the community has earned enough Tickets, a reward will be given to everyone who contributed. After a reward is given the progress bar will reset and start counting towards the next reward.
It is important to note that you can continue to contribute Tickets towards the community reward after you've reached your daily cap. These additional Tickets are not added to your personal total, but will be added to your community contribution.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why hasn’t the event begun in my park yet?
Your park must be at least level 11 to participate in this event, which began on June 7th, 2018.

What is the daily limit of Tickets?
Tickets are normally limited to 1000 per day, but be on the lookout for special occasions where there are more Tickets available! Keep in mind that purchases in the Market are not affected by the daily limit. Please note that you can continue to earn Tickets for the DragonVale community even after you've hit your personal limit for the day.
When can I collect more Tickets?
Your daily cap for Tickets will reset each day at 11am Mountain Time. Check back each day for more Tickets and more chances to earn prizes!
How many games can I play each day?
You'll get 5 free plays in The Games Tent every 4 hours, up to a maximum of 30 plays per day. Please note that these plays are shared between both games.
Why am I being charged Gems to play games?
If you've already used your 5 available plays you will have the option to purchase additional plays for 5 Gems each. This is entirely optional and you will still receive your 5 free plays every 4 hours. Please note that buying additional plays will increase the chances of a Golden Chest appearing in Wheel of Chance or Dragon Drop.
Will buying more plays at the Games Tent allow me to collect Tickets beyond the normal daily limit?
If you have already reached your Ticket limit for the day, buying more plays will not allow you to win more Tickets for your personal total. Any Tickets won after reaching the daily limit will be applied to your community contribution only.
When does the Great Dragon Faire end?
The Great Dragon Faire runs through July 4th, 2018, and concludes on July 5th at 11am MDT. It will not be possible to earn additional Tickets after this time, but the Prize Tent will remain open for one additional day so you can turn in any leftover Tickets you may have and collect any Tickets you may have in your gifts menu.
When does the Prize Tent close?
The Prize Tent will close at 11am MDT on July 6th and event prizes will no longer be available after this time.
I have Tickets remaining in my Gifts menu. Will these be added to my total when the event ends?
Any Tickets stored in your Gifts menu must be collected in order to be added to your total. You can collect up to 1,000 Tickets from your Gifts on the day between the event ending and the Prize Tent closing.
What happens to my leftover Tickets at the end of the Great Dragon Faire?
After the Prize Tent closes on July 6th, we'll turn any leftover Tickets into DragonCash at the rate of 1,000 DragonCash per 1 Ticket.
When is my last chance to purchase Tickets if I need a few more?
To prevent any potential issues with purchases being made as the event is ending, Ticket purchasing will be turned off at 8am MDT on July 6th, 3 hours prior to the closing of the Prize Tent.
