Getting Started
Please join us in Shellebrating Spring with this event! Kaleni has prepared something very special just for you.
Your park must be at least level 11 to participate in this event, which began on April 9th, 2020. If you’re above level 11 and the event hasn’t started for you, you may be playing on an older version of DragonVale. Please update to the most recent version through your device's app store. The correct version for the event is 4.18.0.
Earning Magic
During this event Magic Eggs can be earned in a variety of ways. Magic Eggs can then be exchanged for fabulous prizes at the Eggsquisite Market!
Ways to Earn Magic Eggs:
- Collecting from habitats
- Completing breeds in the Runic Breeding Caves
- Breeding and hatching dragons
- Purchasing Dragons with Gems
- Watching Visions at Tolzar's Optical Oracle
- Competing in Colosseum
- In this event, Magic Eggs will appear throughout your park daily. Find them and collect Magic Eggs by tapping them.
- Playing games in the Eggsercise Arcade
- Competing in challenges at the Budding Hut
- Collecting daily rewards at the Colorful Benefactory
Collecting Prizes
The Eggsquisite Market can be found on the event island and contains all the prizes that can be earned in the event. Prizes are divided into several collections and collecting more unique prizes will unlock more prize collections.
Exchanging Magic Eggs for Prizes
- Visit the Eggsquisite Market and tap the Prizes icon
- View available prizes by tapping each of the different collections
- A counter on each prize will show you how many of that item you currently own. Please note that dragons that have not yet been hatched will not be counted.
- Collect the required number of unique prizes to unlock higher tiers
Unlocking Additional Prize Collections
Collecting more unique prizes will unlock the higher tiers. The number of unique prizes required to unlock each tier is visible within the Eggsquisite Market. If you already own an item from one of the prize collections it will count towards unlocking higher tiers. Please note that multiples of the same item do not count towards unlocking higher tiers.
Runic Breeding Caves
See how many different dragons you can breed in the Runic Breeding Caves! The resulting egg from each breed in a Runic Breeding Cave will be exchanged for Magic Eggs.
Longer breed times will award more Magic Eggs than shorter times, and breeding new dragon types will provide an extra bonus of Magic Eggs. All breeds in Runic Breeding Caves are reduced in time and can be sped up with Gems.
Please note that the cost to speed up a breed in a Runic Breeding Cave will increase with each use.
All the dragons you breed in Runic Breeding Caves will be logged in the Egg History, and you can choose ONE of these dragons to keep for each cave that you have activated. You can access your Egg History at any time by tapping on a Runic Breeding Cave, then tapping the "Egg History" icon at the bottom of the screen.
Additional Runic Breeding Caves
Every player will have one Runic Breeding Cave to start with, and will be given a bonus Runestone to activate a second cave during the tutorial. This bonus cave will be available to use for a period of one week.
On Double Magic Eggs days players will be given a second cave to breed in. Each cave will generate Magic Eggs, and you can claim 1 free egg from each Runic Breeding Cave that was activated in your park.
You can also purchase Runestones in the Market that will allow you to activate more Runic Breeding Caves. These caves will last for a period of one week from the time of activation.
It is important to note that reactivating the same cave will not allow you to claim more than one egg to keep from that cave.
Choosing a Free Dragon from your Runic Breeding Caves
You can select the eggs you want to keep at any point during the event, but please choose carefully as this choice is final and you will not be able to change your selection. You can choose 1 egg to keep from each Runic Breeding Cave that was activated in your park.
To claim a free dragon, please follow the steps below:
- Tap the Runic Breeding Cave you wish to collect an egg from
- Tap the Egg History icon
- View all the eggs you've bred, using filters to sort them as necessary
- Tap the claim button on the left side of the Egg History menu
- In the list that pops up, choose the dragon you wish to claim, then tap the "confirm" button
- Tap yes to confirm your dragon selection, or choose no to cancel and choose a different dragon
- Once you have claimed an egg from a Runic Breeding Cave you will not be able to claim another egg from that cave.
Obtaining Dragons
Certain new dragons can also be obtained by transforming existing dragons in your park. To summon one of these new dragons, you'll need to obtain all 10 unique decorations required for the desired dragon.
More information on how to summon the Hedera, Pixie, Glyph, and Minchi Dragons can be found in their breeding hints. If you have the necessary base dragon as indicated in the breeding hint, and have collected all 10 of the required decorations, you can then summon the new dragon to your park.
Obtaining Decorations
The decorations needed to summon new dragons can be acquired from the Spring Chests found within the Eggsquisite Market.
You can also obtain decorations from the Golden Chests found in Mini Games. A Golden Chest won in a mini game during the day can contain any of the decorations.
Evolving a Dragon
If you've collected all 10 colors of the required decorations, and have the necessary base dragon in your park, you can evolve that dragon using the steps below. The base dragon you need can be found in the in-game breeding hints for the Hedera, Pixie, Glyph, and Minchi Dragons.
- Make sure you have all 10 decorations placed in your park and not in your gifts menu
- Locate the dragon you wish to evolve and tap on it
- Tap the "Evolve" icon at the bottom of the dragon's info card
- In the pop up menu, tap to select the type of dragon you wish to evolve to, then tap the confirm button
- Tap the "Evolve" button to transform your dragon. Please note that evolving a dragon will cost 1000 Magic Eggs
It is important to note that when you transform one of your dragons it will evolve into a new dragon, and the original dragon will no longer be available in your park. Please keep this in mind if you only have one of the dragons you wish to evolve.

Buying More Plays
After you use your last available play at the Eggsercise Arcade you will have the option to purchase an additional play for 5 Gems. Purchasing an additional play is entirely optional and you will still receive your 5 free plays every 12 hours as usual.
Golden Chests
Sometimes mini-games contain a Golden Chest that will provide special rewards. You'll always have a small chance to find a Golden Chest when playing games, but buying an additional play gives a 100% chance of a Golden Chest appearing on your next turn. Please note that this only guarantees that the chest will appear, and not that you will be able to win the chest.

Why hasn’t the event begun in my park yet?
Your park must be at least level 11 to participate in this event, which began on April 9th, 2020.

What is the daily limit of Magic Eggs?
There is no overall daily limit on Magic Eggs in this event, but the maximum amount of Magic Eggs you can earn by collecting from habitats is 500 per day on a regular day and 1000 on a double day.
Why am I not receiving Magic Eggs when I collect from my habitats?
If you are no longer earning any Magic Eggs when you collect from habitats that would indicate that you have reached your habitat limit for the day.
Why didn't I win the Golden Chest when I bought an additional play at the Eggsercise Arcade?
Buying an additional play guarantees that a Golden Chest will appear as one of the possible prizes in that round, but does not guarantee that you will be able to win it. Please note that in Name that Dragon you must answer correctly before the timer expires in order to win the Golden Chest.
When does The Spring Shellebration end?
The Spring Shellebration runs through May 24th, and concludes on May 25th at 11am Mountain Time. It will not be possible to earn additional Magic Eggs after this time, but the Eggsquisite Market will remain open for two additional days so you can spend any leftover eggs you may have.
When does the Eggsquisite Market close?
The Eggsquisite Market will close on May 27th at 11am Mountain Time and it will not be possible to claim event prizes after this time.
What happens to my leftover Magic Eggs at the end of The Spring Shellebration?
After the Eggsquisite Market closes, we'll turn any leftover Magic Eggs into DragonCash at the rate of 1,000 DragonCash per 1 Magic Egg.
