Vulcan the blacksmith can forge some higher quality equipment than what your soldiers normally use. His services are somewhat expensive however, and are best used to equip your generals for duels when you are at a lower level. Only one item is equipped per soldier during Invading. The game will automatically choose the highest defense items to use for defending, and the highest attack items for attacking.
