Getting Started  

Get your lucky charms, grab your metal dragon detector and let's head out into the Vale. Who knows what goodies we might find? I’m feeling lucky!

Your park must be at least level 11 to participate in this event, which began on March 17th, 2022. If you’re above level 11 and the event hasn’t started for you, you may be playing on an older version of DragonVale. Please update to the most recent version through your device's app store. The correct version for the event is 4.26.

Earning Magic Eggs

During this event, Magic Eggs can be earned in a variety of ways. They can then be exchanged for fabulous prizes at the Burcadian Bazaar!

 

Ways to Earn Magic Eggs:

• Collecting from habitats

• Completing breeds in the Runic Breeding Caves

• Breeding and hatching dragons                 

• Purchasing Dragons with Gems

• Watching Visions at Tolzar's Optical Oracle

• Competing in Colosseum

• Finding and tapping Hidden Magic Eggs and Kaleni in your park

• Playing games in the Eggsercise Arcade

• Competing in challenges at the Budding Hut

• Collecting daily rewards at the Colorful Benefactory

 

Collecting Prizes

 

The Burcadian Bazaar can be found on the event island and contains all the prizes that can be earned in the event. Brand new decorations have been added to the Rainbow tier. Don’t forget to check them out! 

 

Exchanging Magic Eggs for Prizes

• Visit the Burcadian Bazaar and tap the Prizes icon

• View available prizes by tapping each of the different collections

• A counter on each prize will show you how many of that item you currently own. Please note that dragons that have not yet been hatched will not be counted.

Buying More Plays

After you use your last available play at the Eggsceptional Arcade, you will have the option to purchase an additional play for 5 Gems. Purchasing an additional play is entirely optional and you will still receive your 5 free plays every 12 hours as usual.

 

Golden Chests

Sometimes mini-games contain a Golden Chest that will provide special rewards. You'll always have a small chance to find a Golden Chest when playing games, but buying an additional play gives a 100% chance of a Golden Chest appearing on your next turn. Please note that this only guarantees that the chest will appear, and not that you will be able to win the chest.

 

Colorful Benefactory

 

The Colorful Benefactory rewards you for each day you play during the event. Earn free Magic Eggs and even dragons!   

Check in each day for magical rewards and special surprises!

If you miss a day, don’t worry, you can spend a few gems to catch up. You cannot collect a day’s reward in advance.

You only have to login to DragonVale each day to be eligible for the reward. If you login, but forget to visit the Colorful Benefactory, your reward will still be available to collect the next time you visit.

 

Budding Hut

 

Similar to cooperative breeding, you can team up with friends’ dragons to compete in challenges and win Magic Eggs!

 

• Challenges will last six hours each

• Choose the best dragons for the challenge by matching your dragon's elements to the elements of the current challenge 

 

Kaleni

Each day the jolly Kaleni will be walking around in your park! Find him and tap on him for extra Magic Eggs! There are also colorful eggs spread throughout your park, so be on the lookout for those as well!

 

Evolving Dragons

Certain dragons can be obtained by transforming existing dragons in your park.

How to Evolve a Dragon

Some dragons can be evolved, transforming them into other dragons, and to do this, you'll need to meet a set of requirements that you can find listed in their Breeding Hint. These dragons can also be purchased directly with Magic Eggs if you prefer.

 

Breeding Hints can be accessed by tapping on any of the breeding areas, then tapping on the "Breeding Hints" icon at the bottom of the screen.

Once you have met all requirements to obtain one of these new dragons, you can summon it using the steps below. 

 

1 - Locate the dragon you wish to evolve and tap on it.
2 - Tap the "Evolve" icon at the bottom of the dragon's info card
3 - In the pop-up menu, tap to select the type of dragon you wish to evolve to, then tap the confirm button
4 - Tap the "Evolve" button to transform your dragon. Please note that evolving a dragon will cost 1000 Magic Eggs

 

It is important to note that when you transform one of your dragons it will evolve into a new dragon, and the original dragon will no longer be available in your park. Please keep this in mind if you only have one of the dragons you wish to evolve. 

 

 

Runic Breeding Caves

See how many different dragons you can breed in the Runic Breeding Caves! The resulting egg from each breed in a Runic Breeding Cave will be exchanged for Magic Eggs.

The longer the breed times, the more Magic Eggs will be awarded, and breeding new dragon types will provide an extra bonus of Magic Eggs. All breeds in Runic Breeding Caves are reduced in time and can be sped up with Gems.

Please note that the cost to speed up a breed in a Runic Breeding Cave will increase with each use.  

All the dragons you breed in Runic Breeding Caves will be logged in the Egg History, and you can choose ONE of these dragons to keep for each cave that you have activated. You can access your Egg History at any time by tapping on a Runic Breeding Cave, then tapping the "Egg History'' icon at the bottom of the screen. Please note that you have to claim your egg of choice from each cave you have activated during the event before it ends on April 25th at 08:00 AM MDT.

 

 

Additional Runic Breeding Caves

Everyone will have one Runic Breeding Cave to start with and will be given a bonus Runestone to activate a second cave during the tutorial. This bonus cave will be available to use for a period of one week.

On Double days players will be given a second cave to breed in. Each cave will generate Magic Eggs, and you can claim 1 free dragon egg from each Runic Breeding Cave that was activated in your park.

You can also purchase Runestones in the Market that will allow you to activate more Runic Breeding Caves. These caves will last for a period of one week from the time of activation.

It is important to note that reactivating the same cave will not allow you to claim more than one egg to keep from that cave. 

 

Choosing a Free Dragon from your Runic Breeding Caves

You can select the eggs you want to keep at any point during the event, but please choose carefully as this choice is final and you will not be able to change your selection. You can choose 1 egg to keep from each Runic Breeding Cave that was activated in your park. 

 

   

To claim a free dragon, please follow the steps below:

• Tap the Runic Breeding Cave you wish to collect an egg from

• Tap the Egg History icon

• View all the eggs you've bred, using filters to sort them as necessary

• Tap the claim button on the left side of the Egg History menu

• In the list that pops up, choose the dragon you wish to claim, then tap the "confirm" button

• Tap yes to confirm your dragon selection, or choose no to cancel and choose a different dragon

• Once you have claimed an egg from a Runic Breeding Cave you will not be able to claim another egg from that cave. 

 

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you do not claim your egg of choice before the event ends on April 25th at 08:00 AM MDT, the game will automatically send one from the eggs you have received in each cave to your Gifts menu. These choices are made at random and are final, so make sure you make a claim before the event island disappears. 

 

Frequently Asked Questions 

 

Why hasn’t the event begun in my park yet?

Your park must be at least level 11 to participate in this event, which began on March 17th, 2022.

What is the daily limit of Magic Eggs?

There is no overall daily limit on Magic Eggs in this event, but the maximum amount you can earn by collecting from habitats is 500 per day on a regular day and 1000 on a double day.

 

Why am I not receiving Magic Eggs when I collect from my habitats?

If you are no longer earning any Magic Eggs when you collect from habitats, that would indicate that you have reached your habitat limit for the day.  

  

Why didn't I win the Golden Chest when I bought an additional play at the Eggsceptional Arcade?

Buying an additional play guarantees that a Golden Chest will appear as one of the possible prizes in that round, but does not guarantee that you will be able to win it. Please note that in Name that Dragon you must answer correctly before the timer expires in order to win the Golden Chest.

 

 

When does Luck of the Vale end?

The Luck of the Vale event runs through April 24th, and concludes on April 25th at 8:00 AM Mountain Time. It will not be possible to earn additional Magic Eggs after this time, but the Burcadian Bazaar will remain open for two additional days so you can spend any leftover Magic Eggs you may have.

 

When does the Burcadian Bazaar close?

The Burcadian Bazaar will close on April 27th at 8:00 AM Mountain Time and it will not be possible to claim event prizes after this time.

 

What happens to my leftover Magic Eggs at the end of Luck of the Vale?

After the Burcadian Bazaar closes, we'll turn any leftover Magic Eggs into DragonCash at the rate of 1,000 DragonCash per 1 Egg.

 

Why did the theme and time of day in my park change?

With each event, there is an accompanying theme, and depending on that, the time of day in your park will also be affected. The theme can be changed manually with the Twilight Tower building at any time, but the theme will revert back to normal day and night cycles when the event ends. You can easily tell what time of day is set by the active theme by checking if any lamps or other decorations that respond to time are active.

What is the skybox theme with the current event?

For the duration of Luck of the Vale, the theme of the event is the Spring theme, which is a day theme. It will go back to day and night cycles when the event ends, but this can also be manually changed from the Twilight Tower at any time.

Why don’t I have any visitors in my park?

During Luck of the Vale, the jolly Kaleni is the clickable NPC in your park. Find him and tap on him for extra Magic Eggs! There are also colorful eggs spread throughout your park, so be on the lookout for those as well!

What are Runestones used for?

Runestones are items used to activate Runic Breeding Caves for 7 days, allowing you to use them for eggless breeding for that duration. The results of each breed will be exchanged for Magic Eggs. At any point, even when the cave is inactive, you can select to keep one of those egg results permanently, but please choose carefully as this choice is final.

Why can I not collect the Magic Eggs I have stored in my Runic Breeding Caves?

The Magic Eggs that you see in the Runic Breeding Cave menu simply shows how many Magic Eggs you have generated through eggless breeding. This amount cannot be collected or redeemed as it has already been deposited to your overall Magic Egg Counter.

What happens to the dragons I breed in the Runic Breeding Cave?

The resulting egg from each breed in the Runic Breeding Cave will be exchanged for Magic Eggs. All the dragons you breed will be logged in your Egg History, and you can choose ONE of these dragons to keep. You can select the egg you want to keep at any point in the event, but please choose carefully as this choice is final.

 

What can I collect from my Runic Breeding Caves?

From the Runic Breeding Caves, you can collect a single one of the eggs that you have amassed in your Egg History tab. You can select the egg you want to keep at any point in the event, but please choose carefully as this choice is final.

 

What happens to my leftover Runestones at the end of the event?

At the end of the event, any leftover Runestones will be converted into gems, at a rate of 10 gems per Runestone.
