Unable to Buy Habitats
I’m unable to buy any new DragonVale Habitats. They are greyed out in the DragonVale Market.
It sounds like you have reached the maximum number of allowed habitats for the current level of your park. If you look at any habitat in the Market, you’ll see a number in the lower left hand corner that shows your habitat quota. For example, if you see “13/14”, it means that you have built 13 of the 14 allowable habitats at your current level. “14/14” means that you have maxed out all allowable habitats for your current level. Try leveling up your park to unlock additional habitats.
Additionally, "bonus" habitat slots can be purchased using Gems. If you are at your maximum number of habitats and attempt to purchase another, you will get the option to use Gems to increase your habitat limit by one. Please note this will not actually give you an additional habitat, and you will still need to purchase the habitat you want.
Gem Gifting
How many Gems can I gift each day?
By default, players can give 3 Gems from each park per day. If you have the Dragonsai Tree or Dragonsai Bush in your park you can send Gems to additional friends. The Dragonsai Tree allows you to send Gems to 3 additional friends per day, and the Dragonsai Bush allows you to send a Gem to 1 additional friend per day. Please note that you cannot send more than 1 Gem to the same friend from the same park.
If you have multiple parks, you can send a maximum of 21 Gems per day from your device. Once you have sent 21 Gems you will not be able to send any more Gems from that device until the following day.
Can I give more Gems per day if I have the Dragonsai Tree or Dragonsai Bush?
Purchasing the Dragonsai Tree or Dragonsai Bush will not allow you to bypass the Gem gifting cap. Once you have sent 21 Gems you will not be able to send any more Gems from that device until the following day. This includes any Gems you may have from the Dragonsai Tree or Dragonsai Bush.
What time do my Gems reset each day?
The Gems you can give to your friends now reset daily at 8 am MST. Once you've given out all your Gems for the day you will not be able to give any more until 8 am Mountain Time on the following day.
Can I give more than one Gem to a single friend?
If you only have one park you can only give 1 Gem to each friend per day. If you have multiple parks, you can gift a single friend one Gem from each of those parks, up to the daily device limit.
Why can't I see all of my friends or send them gifts?
For privacy reasons, if you have more than one Game Center or Facebook account being used on the same device, you will only be able to access the friends list associated with the account you are currently signed into. To view or send gifts to friends added to a different Game Center or Facebook account, you would need to sign out of the current account and into the other.
If I have more than one park which park will the Gems from my friends go to?
As it is now possible for players to have multiple parks attached to the same account, the Gems sent from your friends will automatically go to the last park you were logged into.
Obtaining Limited Dragons
Is there any way to get a Holiday or Special Event Dragon that I missed?
Unfortunately special event and holiday dragons are just that…very special! We certainly hope these rare dragons will make a return to DragonVale in the future!
Not Earning XP
Why am I no longer getting XP in DragonVale?
As you obtain higher levels in DragonVale, it takes a massive amount of XP to notice a change in the XP Bar. This is normal and know that you are accumulating XP even if it doesn't visually register for some time. We recommend leveling some dragons past level 16 as that provides a lot of XP very quickly.
Please note that if you have reached the MAX level in DragonVale you will not gain additional experience.
Dragon Shrines
A few notes about Dragon Shrines
A few things to know about shrines - when you view them in the Market, the number x/50 reflects how many level 10, level 50, and Elder dragons of that element are currently in your park. If you sell any of those dragons, that number will decrease. Once you've purchased and placed the shrine in your park, it will tally the total number of level 10, 15, and Elder dragons of that element and that is the number it will 'start' at. This means you can sell any of those level 10 dragons and the number won't decrease.
That being said, often users believe the shrine isn't tallying properly because they are waiting for the number to increase AFTER selling the level 10 dragon when in fact, it increases as soon as it reaches level 10. So for instance if you look at your total and it is 8/50 then you level the dragon to 10 and it says 9/50, then you sell it, it will still say 9/50 instead of 10/50.
Additionally, if your shrine is not silver (meaning you do not yet have 50/50 level 10 dragons), your shrine will not calculate level 15 dragons properly. It will calculate the level 15 dragon if you get one there but if you sell it, that dragon will be deducted from the total. However, our servers are keeping track of the number so once you get 50/50 level 10 dragons, the level 15 count will correct.
Missing Island Themes
Why can't I find the island themes I purchased?
Once you purchase the Island Themes Bundle, all of your new Island themes can be found in your Gifts tab of the Social menu. Collect each theme from your Gifts menu to add them to your theme inventory. Once you have collected an island theme, you may apply it by tapping an island's magic portal, tapping "island themes", then selecting the theme you wish to apply.
Purchasing Galaxy Habitats
Where can I purchase additional Galaxy Habitats?
The wizards have placed extra Galaxy Habitats in your 'Islands' section in the Market. From the main-screen select the market, then on the next screen tap 'Islands' - You should find the second and third Galaxy habitats as one of the first options to purchase.
Elder Dragons
I fed one of my Dragons to level 20 and it didn't become an Elder! Why not?
In order to obtain an Elder dragon, you must feed one of your Primary dragons to level 21. Please keep in mind only primary (single element) dragons - Fire, Earth, Plant, Lightning, Metal, Air, Water, Cold, Light, and Dark - can be leveled up to level 21 and become Elders.
I have an Elder Dragon but my shrine isn't turning Platinum!
Before your shrine will turn platinum for obtaining an Elder of that element, you first need to obtain the silver and gold shrines by collecting 50 level 10 dragons of that element, and 50 level 15 dragons of that element. Once you complete silver and gold your shrine will turn platinum!
Missing Twins
Why didn't I receive a twin dragon that my friend bred with my park?
Please note that you can only receive up to 10 twins while you are away from the game. If your friends breed 10 twins with you while you aren't playing, you will need to log in and acknowledge the existing twins before you will start to receive new twins.
